Spencer Hooper signed on as executive director three years ago because, as he puts it, others in the organization "knew how to run, but they didn't know how to run an organization." Working tirelessly, he crafted an organizational structure, assembled a Board of Directors, and doubled the number of participants. An erstwhile dot-commer with a specialty in network engineering, he's the organizational force and vibrant leader who keeps SRO moving forward. Teamed up with Coach Alphonzo, he sometimes has to play the "bad cop" to keep the kids in line and get the logistics in order. Wanting to give back to the community, his extraordinary personal commitment to the kids and the program runs deep.
